Series: One

Wrapper color Variant: Red

These were made in Argentina by Stani, and distributed by Confex (who also made Garbage Pail Kids Chews, in 1986) in New Jersey, and across the US. These were produced for a short time and distribution was spotty. The candy was taffy-like and quite good! They are of the penny candy genre, a genre that has since all but died. Most penny candy in Monster Chews days was kept on the bottom candy shelf under the chocolate bars, but Monster Chews was usually kept on the counter near the cashier since it was unusual and had great graphics, and not generic such as the typical double bubble penny gums. It was designed to get kid’s attention, obviously, so they were usually found up front in the gas station.
