Description: This item is for one copy (of four available for sale) of a leatherbound hardback book published by Easton Press in 2019. Bound in top grade gray leather with 22kt gold lettering and cover artwork. Hubbed spine, acid neutral paper with page edges gilded, satin moire endpapers, and a satin ribbon book mark sewn in. Unused publisher supplied bookplate laid in (not attached). A volume from the Easton Press Reader's Choice XV series. Originally published as two serials in the pulp magazines featuring the same character, they were published together in book form.

Synopsis: (The Mucker) - Billy Byrne is a low life thug from the slums of Chicago. A drunk, a thief and a bully whose only redeeming features are that he won't snitch on an accomplice or leave them behind on a job. Accused of a murder he didn't commit, he flees to San Francisco, where in an attempt to get two sailors drunk so he can rob them, he is slipped a mickey and wakes up aboard a ship. Forced to labor and into sobriety, his character begins to change. A gang aboard the ship attack a yacht carrying Barbara Harding, the daughter of a wealthy man, and kidnap her with Billy's participation. The ship they are on gets wrecked in a storm and Billy rescues her. The end up on an unknown island inhabited by the descendants of Japanese samurai and native headhunters. (The Return of the Mucker) - Billy returns to Chicago to try and clear his name but is found guilty and sentenced to prison. Escaping en route to prison, he escapes to Mexico pursued by a detective. Mexico is in the midst of revolution. Captured by revolutionaries, he is forced to join their army. Meanwhile, Barbara's father has taken her to a ranch he owns in Mexico. Various adventures occur, Barbara is kidnapped again and Billy rescues her and saves Mr Harding's ranch that is being attacked by the revolutionaries. Will Barbara and Billy finally end up together?
