Lenovo 24-Port 6Gbps SAS-2 SATA Expansion Adapter 03X3834 Firmware 013D  

Listed for sale here is a Lenovo SAS-2 Expander daughter card adapter, part number 03X3834. It is a 24-port SAS-2 6Gbps expander, of which 4 or 8 ports can be connected to a SAS controller, and any remaining ports can be used to connect to storage devices or other SAS expanders. This allows you to expand the number of hard drives you can connect to with your SAS controller without having to add another SAS controller.

These units have been updated to firmware version 013D.

CAUTION: THIS IS NOT A HBA SAS CONTROLLER. THIS CARD DOES NOT WORK BY ITSELF.

I have fully tested these units in my server with an LSI SAS2008 based HBA SAS controller running ZFS on Linux. If you need an HBA to go with this, please check out the "HBA IT mode controllers" section of my ebay store.
