Muse Of Dancing ~ Very Good Condition ~ Sterling Silver

VERY Hard To Find solid sterling silver large Pendant or small Christmas Ornament featuring Terpsichore, the Muse of Dance. This measures approximately 2 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches wide not including the hanging loop. This lovely oval has a beaded frame edge on the front with a smooth, solid back. This is not damaged in any way I can see and comes in a new anti tarnish pouch and gift box. It does have minor scratches and spots consistent with use and or wear. Any gold tones or spots you see are the result of poor photography. This is gleaming sterling silver. As with all vintage silver, may require proper polishing upon receipt depending on your preferences.

Terpsichore was one of the nine Mousai, the goddesses of music, song and dance. In late classical times--when the Muses were assigned specific literary and artistic spheres--Terpsikhore was named Muse of choral song and dancing, and represented with a plectrum and lyre.
Terpsichore or Terpsikhore, the "Whirler" is the muse of dancing and is often seen dancing with her lyre and a plectrum, an instrument used for plucking stringed instruments. By the river god Achelous, she bore the Sirens.
