A vibrant homage to a classic Jules Verne novel from a multiple Arthur C Clarke Award nominee.

Featuring an amazing cover design inspired by the original Jules Verne novel that this new novel pays homage too, this exclusive slipcased edition of Splinter will be the world’s only hardback edition of this outstanding novel, which is sure to garner huge critical acclaim and propel Adam Roberts to the forefront of modern science fiction.

Each of the 1000 limited edition copies will be numbered and individually signed by Adam Roberts. The book also features an exclusive afterword by Adam Roberts detailing his inspiration for the book and his passion for the work of Jules Verne.

This edition of Splinter is presented in a slipcase along with a new exclusive edition of Off on a Comet by Jules Verne. Painstaking restored and re-edited by Adam Roberts, this is the first time that the book has been published in English in the form the author intended. Prior to this new edition, Off on a Comet had only been translated into English once before, in 1877, by an American who liberally excised whole passages, condensed dialogue and removed an entire chapter. Adam Roberts has returned to the original text and restored these previously unseen passages, reinterpreting the text from the original French edition, retranslating the chapter headings and essentially breathing new life into this classic text.

Featuring a long introduction by Adam Roberts giving an overview of the text, how it inspired his own work and how he set about restoring it to its current form.
