This is a rare, authentic black metal document or bank box with fantastic local history. Manufactured by the P N CO in Fulton, Illinois, it features crisp gold lettering for the Mutual Benefit Health and Accident Association & Life Insurance Company of Omaha.
Manufacturer Mark: Very lightly stamped/pressed into the metal near the lid hinge: “MF’D BY P N CO FULTON, ILL. U.S.A.”
Condition: Good vintage condition with a beautiful aged patina. The gold litho lettering is remarkably clear.
Notes: The lock has been previously removed (open hole remains). There is very light surface rust on the bottom and one small, minor dent near the lock area, consistent with age and use.
