IS IT WORTH SAVING A COUPLE BUCKS buying NON OEM China made gears???? You may find gears a couple bucks cheaper online but you will regret buying these gears if they are made in China.
Why you ask? Because the specification and Gear tolerances for the teeth spacing and The Shaft Fitment will most likely be sloppy and non-uniform.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY the Quality of the Nylon Pellet/Source Raw Material is NOT anywhere near as good of quality as the OEM North American Made Gears like we sell.
The old saying "You pay for what you get", does hold true here. Its your choice.
Save a couple bucks or so and replace the Gear Way More Often than you would with a Premium Quality OEM North American Manufactured replacement Gear.
It's Your Call. Pretty simple... if the price you see online is a lot lower and the time to receive the gear is a lot longer, than what we offer with these OEM (Original Equipment Manufactured Part) ....than you can pretty much assume the source of these gears is China.

You are not getting a similar quality product from many aspects. Its your choice. Personally saving a couple bucks for me is not worth messing around repeating the job in the near future all over again. Our OEM Quality Gears will last 8 to 15 years before another replacement is required. China Gears will be 1.5 years to 3 years tops.

  • A good grade of Lithium Grease (white or dark will work) liberally applied to the teeth of the replacement gear is ESSENTIAL to guarantee smooth operation of a well-adjusted door for years and avoid premature wearing of the newly installed gear.
  • REGULAR GREASE WILL NOT WORK. And Do Not Use Spray On Type Lithium Grease. It must be a paste.    
  • (I offer Lithium Grease if required. It is not included in this auction but I can add it for an additional $5.00 total for a Large 3 Ounce Tube of grease. You will only need 3/4 ounces per gear install so you will have a good amount left over for other projects. If you want to add a tube of Lithium grease message me for payment details or you can find my other EBay ad that includes the Grease. Oh No!!  Your Garage Door stopped working:

  • If your garage door stops going up or down yet you hear the garage door motor running than it is 95% likely that the problem is a worn or stripped internal Drive gear. It's easy to replace.
  • Fix your own garage door opener in 30 minutes or less with one of these "Drive Gears" some  Lithium Grease, a few hand tools and the You Tube video links pasted below. I can also email this to you upon request.
  • (NOTE: 97% of the time you do not have to worry about replacing anything but the round Drive Gear.  All the other gears, bushing and bearings are normally not required and are just added cost for no reason. So why bother buying them if they are rarely ever needed?

You may pay a little more for this gear but you won't need to change it again for many, many years.
