Snap Tite Inc. MHV Series – Single Over Centre Valve (Counter Balance Valve)
The Snap Tite MHV over center valve is used to prevent moving loads from overrunning the pump, lock the load in the event of a system failure and provide static overpressure relief. The cartridge style over centre valve is easily serviced in the field and is ideal for installation directly into the actuating cylinder head. The SNAP TITE over centre cartridge valve features hardened steel construction for long life and matched radius lapped seats for extremely low leakage. The body material is 2024 aluminium with 3/4” BSP Parallel ports.
Controlled lowering of the load is accomplished by the spring loaded spool which senses pressure driving the load (pilot pressure) and modulates oil flow from the piston side of the actuating cylinder. The spool will throttle the flow if the pilot pressure decays. Relief cartridge must be set above maximum load induced pressure.
