Hawaii Five-0 is an American action police procedural television series that premiered on Monday, September 20, 2010, on the network CBS. The series is a re-imagining of the original series, which aired on CBS from 1968 to 1980. Like the original series, the show follows an elite state police task force set up to fight major crimes in the state of Hawaii. The task force is led by Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin), a Navy Reserve Lieutenant Commander who is assisted by Detective Danny Williams (Scott Caan), and other police officers. The series is produced by K/O Paper Products and 101st Street Television, initially in association with CBS Productions, then CBS Television Studios since season three.[1] The show has had three crossovers with other crime shows and has received praise for its modern take on the original series.
On April 18, 2018, CBS renewed the series for a ninth season[2] which premiered on September 28, 2018.[3] The series was also renewed by CBS for a tenth season on May 9, 2019,[4] which premiered on September 27, 2019.[5]

Hawaii Five-O is an American police procedural drama series produced by CBS Productions and created by Leonard Freeman. Set in Hawaii, the show originally aired for 12 seasons from 1968 to 1980, and continues in reruns. At the airing of its last episode it was the longest-running police drama in American television history.
Jack Lord portrayed Detective Captain Steve McGarrett, the head of a special state police task force which was based on an actual unit that existed under martial law in the 1940s.[3] The theme music composed by Morton Stevens became especially popular. Many episodes would end with McGarrett instructing his subordinate to "Book 'em, Danno!", sometimes specifying a charge such as "murder one".
