These 12V orange/amber 1206 SMD LEDs come pre-wired with soldered leads and a built-in resistor, so you can connect directly to any 9–18V DC source without calculating resistor values or soldering to a bare pad.
Each LED measures 3.2mm × 1.5mm (1206/3216 footprint) and operates at 12V forward voltage with a 20mA draw, emitting orange/amber light at 605nm with a wide 110° viewing angle. Brightness runs 150–250mcd through a clear, diffuse lens, giving a soft, even glow rather than a harsh hotspot. Approximately 15cm (6 inches) of flexible wire lead makes routing into tight spaces straightforward.
Common applications
- Automotive instrument cluster restoration — orange/amber is the factory color in many GM, Chevy, and Nissan clusters (Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon, Xterra, Frontier). Drop-in replacement when an OEM-color gauge backlight fails, no resistor math needed.
- Chevy Colorado / GMC Canyon (2004–2012) — active DIY community on 355nation.net and coloradofans.com; amber maintains the stock look while upgrading from incandescent.
- Toyota Tacoma, 4Runner, Tundra (2004–2011) — commonly used to replace burned indicator bulbs in the cluster while keeping OEM amber coloring.

Wiring & power notes
DC power recommended: LEDs are designed for DC. Running on AC will cause flickering and reduce lifespan. If using a low-voltage AC source (model railroad transformer, DCC track voltage), convert it to DC with a MB1S bridge rectifier plus a 100µF 50V electrolytic capacitor for clean, ripple-free output.
