Lighthouse LEDs has been providing top quality components for over 20 years and have become the go-to supplier for many industries through Ebay and our personal website, where there is more ordering flexibility and products offered. If you need resistors, wire, heatshrink, switches or LED drivers you can find them at those links. We have, perhaps, the best and widest selection of LEDs out there!
10 x 5mm Diffused Flat Top Frosted Milky Lens LED Green Ultra Bright Wide Angle

Pure green 520nm diffused flat-top LEDs with a frosted milky lens that spreads light evenly across a wide 120° viewing angle — the right choice when you need soft, glow-from-within illumination rather than a focused point of light.

Each LED runs at 3.0–3.4V forward voltage at 20mA and delivers 10,000–12,000 mcd of brightness at a 520nm pure green wavelength. The 5mm body pairs a diffuse lens surface with a frosted white lens — not a colored lens — so the diffusion happens in the lens itself, producing smooth, even output without hot spots or internal refraction artifacts. The flat-top profile sits flush and low-profile when panel-mounted.

Common applications

  • Model railroad signals and building interiors: Diffused lens eliminates the visible hotspot through window glazing in HO and N scale structures. DCC decoder function outputs at 3.3V drive direct — no resistor needed in many decoders.
  • Cosplay props and resin builds: Pure green diffused LEDs are a staple for sci-fi power cells, glowing eye effects, and translucent resin prop work. Diffused lens avoids refraction artifacts inside cast resin (noted on TheRPF.com builds).
  • Panel indicators and status lights: Flat-top lens mounts flush in standard 5mm panel holes; frosted finish softens output for control panels where a sharp beam would be distracting.
  • Diorama and terrain lighting: Green diffused LEDs used for ambient underglow, toxic waste effects, and sci-fi terrain bases in tabletop miniature projects.
  • Arduino and microcontroller projects: Wide 120° viewing angle means the indicator is visible from off-axis without repositioning; forward voltage range is compatible with 3.3V logic pins through a small series resistor.

Wiring & power notes

DC power recommended: LEDs are designed for DC. Running on AC will cause flickering and reduce lifespan. If using a low-voltage AC source (model railroad transformer, DCC track voltage), convert it to DC with a MB1S bridge rectifier plus a 100µF 50V electrolytic capacitor for clean, ripple-free output.

Resistor quick reference — 3V LEDs (blue, green, white, UV) at 20mA:

Supply VoltageResistorPower Rating
4V56Ω1/4W
5V100Ω1/4W
6V150Ω1/4W
7V200Ω1/4W
8V270Ω1/4W
9V300Ω1/4W
10V360Ω1/4W
11V430Ω1/4W
12V470Ω1/4W
13V510Ω1/4W
14V560Ω1/2W
15V620Ω1/2W

Prefer not to calculate resistor values? Our 20mA LED Current Limiter eliminates the math entirely. Active constant-current drive to 20mA across a 4–45V DC supply — ideal for automotive circuits where voltage fluctuates. Multiple LEDs in series share one driver.

Building with this LED

Need supporting components? We carry a few staples that pair directly with this LED:

  • Thin lead-extension wire: 30 AWG Kynar wire — solid core, Teflon jacket, perfect for extending LED leads in tight spaces.
  • Hookup wire for power runs: 26 AWG Kynar wire — thicker conductor for supply rails and longer runs without voltage drop.
  • Bare tinned bus bar: 24 AWG tinned copper — solid core bare wire for bus-bar power distribution on perfboard builds and LED arrays.
  • DIY timer / blinker circuit: NE555 Timer IC — the classic 8-pin DIP chip for building LED blinker, PWM dimmer, and tone-generator circuits without needing a microcontroller.

Quality LEDs made in the USA since 2005.

Most of the times the postage on our items are free, but when it is not we do our best to make sure that you pay very close to the actual postage price. If you feel this is not the case on items that are not "Free Shipping" then please let us know and we will make the adjustment before you pay. We do ask that you email/message us before paying for the auctions you have "won". Thanks.

We will always ship items out as fast as we possibly can. Most times your item will even ship the same day you purchased. We typically quit processing new orders between noon and 4:00 PM (PST). Please simply check our feedback to show you how quickly we ship. Nearly every feedback comments on this.

We do our best to provide fair shipping prices on all the items. You will have the best shipping prices if you checkout/pay after you have chosen all the items that you would like to purchase. Ebay will combine all shipping costs that are qualified for combined shipping costs.

We will leave excellent feedback up receipt of payment. We ask that once you have received your item you leave an equivalent feedback.

If, for some reason, there is an issue that needs resolved, please simply send us a message. We are people, just like everyone else, and are willing to help resolve any issues there may be.

Please contact us sooner than later if you have questions regarding a product/shipment/installation. We would rather you ask before installing/using an item, if you are unsure, and get it right the first time.

We will address negative feedback and "star" ratings. Negative feedback is meant to be used if a seller is completely unresponsive and unwilling to work with you. We are ALWAYS willing to help and resolve any issues. We do ask that you please don't send any "rude" emails and give us a change to help. Again, this is such a rare instance we can nearly guarantee this won't apply to you. We ship the items as fast as we possibly can and via the methods stated, after that we have no say in what the postal system does with it. If they go beyond the estimated delivery time, it is not our fault. Please give us a break regarding this. Email us if you feel your item should have been delivered and isn't.
