This vintage hanging Chatillons Improved Spring Balance Scale (New York City) has a 150 lb capacity. It has a heavy brass incised front plate with a heavy sheet iron back & cast iron 'S' hook on top and a ring on the bottom. It does work & is accurate. When we bought it several years ago, we stripped it down to bare metal, soaked it overnight in RustOff, hand polished the brass and gave it a light protective spray that would allow natural oxidation & painted the heavy sheet iron and rolled iron hook and ring black like they were originally. We have used it to hold hanging plants so there is some paint chipping on the iron hook & ring. It is 22” long, 3 1/2” wide & 2” deep. The scale weighs 4 1/2 lbs. Being sold 'as is.'
