Handmade sterling silver earrings from the little known Sierra Nevada turquoise mine. Soft, comforting blue, hand cut stones with tiny bubbles of even lighter blue matrix. Skillfully crafted with a hefty, twisted rope bezel by Navajo artist Sampson Jake. Each earring bears his hallmark "JS" on the back along with ".925", indicating sterling silver. His hallmark initials are reversed because another Navajo artist, Selina Jake, uses "SJ". Each measures 1 & 1/8" long (NOT counting the French wire hook) by 1/2" wide including the silver bezel. This is an extraordinary piece of handmade Native American art and a turquoise that is fast becoming very popular like the now closed Sleeping Beauty mine.
