These blue PLCC-4 SMD LEDs are engineered for automotive instrument cluster work — particularly the countless GM, Honda, and VW platforms that use 3528/1210 footprint LEDs for gauge backlighting, needle illumination, and HVAC controls.
Each LED runs at 3.0–3.6V forward voltage at 20mA, emitting a deep blue at 462.5nm wavelength with a broad 120° viewing angle and 1,000mcd output. The PLCC-4 / 3528 / 1210 body fits the same pads as PLCC-2 on many boards, making it interchangeable on platforms like the Acura TL 3G. The clear diffuse lens distributes light evenly across gauge faces without hot spots.
DC power recommended: LEDs are designed for DC. Running on AC will cause flickering and reduce lifespan. If using a low-voltage AC source (model railroad transformer, DCC track voltage), convert it to DC with a MB1S bridge rectifier plus a 100µF 50V electrolytic capacitor for clean, ripple-free output.
