If you have a closure plate that is only sealed by fire cement around the flue, there is a good chance that the fire cement will crack and break away from the flue, this is due to the expansion and contraction of the flue when hot and cold. With the sealing collar the heat resistant rope takes up this movement, so will give a long lasting seal, and preventing fume leakage.The size of the plate is 250mm x 250mm galvanised steel to suit a 6" flue, the advantage of using galvanised steel is it's resistance to corrosion and it reflects the heat back into the room. The collar is larger than the flue pipe, so the flue pipe will pass through the collar and the fibre rope inserted around the flue pipe to seal and support. The collar is stainless steel it's unique design stops the fibre rope from falling out, and stopping extreme heat propagation past the stainless steel collar. Includes 8 self drilling screws for fixing to your existing plate.
