a shield quarterly, with on I and IV three eagle legs,
on II and III a bull passant, the head adorned with three pennants,
above a crown a crest of a bearded, demi / rising wild man, with a three-feathered headdress and foliage garment around his hips, holding eagle legs in each hand,
two wild men as supporters, bearded and wearing foliage garment around their hips and a three feathered headdress, each holding an eagle's leg in their outer hand,
height: circa 10 cm / circa 3.9 inch
matrix diameter: circa 2,2 cm / circa 0.8 inch
condition: very good & nice, firm & stable, some signs of age and use
- we found a similar wax seal on the internet that had belong to Franz von Stuck (1863-1928) a famous German painter and sculptor - although he often depicted scenes with snakes and dragons, see f.e. his painting of Hercules and Hydra, we did not find this figure with his signature, so we only can attribute this to the artist -
