This is a very gently pre-owned framed hand-crafted fabric art piece from the Republic of Panama. This is a framed MOLA. The colorful vintage mola panel features a multi-colored depiction of the tropical HIBSCUS flower. This piece was handmade by the Kuna Indians of Panama’s San Blas Islands. The MOLA art form uses a reverse application process where multiple layers of fabric are attached in a cutout and stitched technique similar to quilting and involving thousands of hand stitches. The framed piece measures approximately 19.5 tall by 9.5” wide overall with the mola measuring approximately 18” tall by 8” wide. The handmade frame is rendered in tropical hardwood. This great art piece was obtained in a Military Veteran's estate sale lot and was originally obtained while stationed in Panama in the mid to late 1970s. It is in perfect condition and ready to display. This item is being sold as is and as shown. Please ask any questions before bidding. Check my feedback and bid with confidence.
