1939 NEW YORK CITY WORLD'S FAIR - Maritime Building - 1940:  The Maritime Building (also known as the Hall of Marine Transportation) at the 1939 New York World's Fair showcased the latest advancements in naval architecture and marine navigation.
Overview and Architecture
-  Nautical Design: The building featured a striking design flanked by twin ship prows at its main entrance.
-  Setting: It was built near a large decorative basin often featured in contemporary photographs and postcards with small yachts or model boats.
-  Exhibits: Inside, the hall offered educational displays on marine transportation, ship design, and shipping industry techniques.
-  1940 Season: Like most of the fair, the Maritime Building reopened for a second and final season in May 1940 before the exposition permanently closed on October 27, 1940, after which it was demolished.
