A fantastic vintage Adidas America varsity/letterman jacket in royal blue wool with genuine leather sleeves and large Adidas America branding to the back. This is a particularly unusual Adidas piece and has been in my family for many years. IMPORTANT PROVENANCE: The jacket came from a family member who worked for Adidas. I have been told that it was an unreleased sample/prototype rather than a standard retail jacket. There is no separate prototype/sample label remaining, so I am describing this as “possible sample/prototype” rather than claiming this as definitively proven. The jacket has a particularly distinctive design, including: • Royal blue wool body • Genuine leather cream/white sleeves • Large embroidered/appliqué adidas AMERICA branding across the back • Smaller Adidas America branding to the chest • Quilted diamond-pattern lining • Ribbed collar, cuffs and waistband • Press-stud fastening • Two front pockets • Made in Korea • Tagged size L The internal care label states a wool/acrylic/nylon/polyester shell composition and leather sleeve construction.
