Description:
A mint hinged group of five Madagascar Free French pictorial stamps from the 1943 issue, each inscribed France Libre and depicting the distinctive traveller’s palm design above colonial emblems. The group comprises the 5c, 10c, 30c, 40c and 80c values in olive-green, purple, orange-brown, blue and brown. The fronts present attractively with clear colours and generally sound appearance, though centring varies and the 40c sits visibly low. The reverse images show original gum with hinge remnants, paper adherence and areas of gum disturbance, consistent with mint hinged condition. Perforations appear generally intact with some uneven or shortened teeth across the group.
