Royal Worcester porcelain egg coddler in the Worcester Flowers pattern, complete with its original screw-on chrome lid and loop ring.

The coddler has a rounded cup form on a short pedestal foot in bright white porcelain. A fine gold-tone band runs beneath the rim, and from it hang pink panels with scalloped lower edges, each decorated with a crimson diamond trellis, small crimson stars at the crossings, and crimson dots, finished with gold-tone scroll trim. Between the panels sit floral sprays in the 18th century Worcester style. One side shows two deep pink double blossoms with yellow centers, crimson buds, a purple bloom, small blue flowers, and a cluster of orange blossoms among green leaves. The other side shows an orange flower with a yellow center, topped by a yellow blossom and a pink bud, with orange buds and trailing purple violets below. The polished chrome lid is double banded and threads onto the porcelain rim, topped with a wire loop ring for lifting from the water.

Backstamp printed in black on the base: a crown over the Royal Worcester circle mark with interlaced W's and C 51 at center, reading "ROYAL WORCESTER FINE PORCELAIN" around the circle, with ® below. Beneath: "MADE IN ENGLAND" and "OVEN TO TABLE WARE." A faint number reading 4-0 also appears on the base, along with a round paper label handwritten "Worcester Flowers."

Approximately 4 inches tall to the top of the ring, approximately 3 1/4 inches tall to the top of the lid, and approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

A pretty and unusual Royal Worcester coddler pattern with a formal, antique porcelain look. Use it for coddled eggs in a pan of simmering water, or display it in a china cabinet or on a breakfast shelf alongside other Royal Worcester pieces.

CONDITION
Pre-owned, excellent condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs found. The pink panels, floral sprays, and gold-tone trim are bright and complete with no visible wear or loss. The interior glaze is clean and white. The base is clean. A round paper label with handwritten pattern name is attached to the base. The chrome lid shows light surface marks from handling.
