The fan speed can be changed by switching the blower resistor resistance mechanically, using a rotating lever, or electronically by the air conditioning system.

    How to Replace a Blower motor resistor Safely and Efficiently：


    Step 1: Safety First: Disconnect the negative terminal of your car's battery to prevent electrical shorts.


    Step 2: Locate the Resistor: Check behind the glove box or under the passenger side of the dashboard; it's usually near the blower motor.


    Step 3:  Access the Resistor: You may need to remove the glove box by unhooking its supports or unscrewing it.

     

    Remove the Old Resistor


    Step 4: Unplug the electrical connector by pressing its locking tab.

     

    Step 5:Remove the screws holding the resistor to the HVAC housing.

     

    Step 6:Pull the old resistor out.

     

    Install the New Resistor


    Step 7:If the wiring looks burnt, you might need to splice in a new pigtail connector using heat shrink tubing Connect the wire harness to the new resistor and engage the locking tab.


    Step 8:Mount the new resistor with the screws.

     

    Step 9:Reassemble: Reinstall the glove box and any other components you removed.

     

    Step 10:Test: Reconnect the battery and test all fan speeds to ensure the repair worked.
