A vintage Sven Wejsfelt “Sahara” stoneware vase for Gustavsberg, Sweden, hand-thrown in warm, richly textured brown and rust-toned glazes. The combination of the substantial hand-thrown body, earthy glaze and graphic emblem gives the piece a distinctly Swedish Modern / Scandinavian studio pottery character. A substantial vintage ceramic piece that works beautifully as a statement vase, shelf display or Scandinavian design collectible, particularly in modernist, rustic modern, earthy and eclectic interiors.

Sven Wejsfelt (1930–2009) was a Swedish ceramic artist closely associated with Gustavsberg, where he worked alongside several of the most important names in 20th-century Swedish ceramics. His studio pieces are particularly appreciated for their craftsmanship, expressive glazes and strong, simple forms.

The underside is marked Gustavsberg Sweden, Sahara, SW and Handdrejad (“hand-thrown”), and the original Gustavsberg Sweden paper label remains attached.
