This antique Awanan-style blue and white tea bowl features a charming dragonfly motif, symbolizing good luck and progress. Crafted in a traditional style mimicking Vietnamese (Awanan) ceramics, this piece showcases a distinctive "Awanan Tombi" design, with the dragonfly pattern being highly prized in tea ceremonies. The bowl exhibits a vintage appearance with a slightly worn rim, adding to its antique charm.
Dimensions:
Comes with a large, matching wooden box measuring about 4.65 x 4.65 x 4.02 inches. Please note, the box lacks a traditional cord. The "kuchi hage" (rim wear) indicates a deliberate or natural aged effect, characteristic of authentic antique ceramics. This piece is believed to be crafted by a renowned Kyoto artisan, possibly Eiraku Wazen (12th generation Zen Goro), known for his work in Awanan-style ceramics.
Ideal for collectors or tea enthusiasts, this bowl is a beautiful example of traditional craftsmanship, perfect for tea ceremonies or display. It has been carefully used and cherished, reflecting its historical and cultural significance.
