This is a decorative Anglo Indian Betel Nut Box. Early 20th century. Lovely solid brass decoration. A Betel Nut box, or simply a Pandan, is a specialized container, often intricately decorated, used in South and Southeast Asia to store and transport the components for chewing betel nut, also known as paan.

Condition: Box shows signs of wear due to age. There is a piece missing that would connect one of the compartment doors. Please review pictures provided for full view of condition.
