This slide shows the aftermath of the Battle of Port Arthur during the Russo‑Japanese War, depicting the “shattered remains of Russian heroes.” Underwood & Underwood produced a wide range of military and humanitarian lantern slides in the early 1900s, and battlefield‑aftermath subjects are among the most sought‑after.

Authentic U&U lantern slides of this type are increasingly scarce, especially numbered examples tied to major historical events. This is an original photographic transparency, not a modern reproduction.

Condition: Fair Condition: Glass intact with expected age wear; coloring and image remain clear when backlit.
