At 48,481 miles, Specialists Alfa Aid in Maidenhead replaced the cambelt, water pump and oil cooler. Other work during the present ownership has included suspension and brake work, glow plugs and welding/repair to the offside sill. Front tyres and battery replaced this year.

Approx 500 miles have been covered since the most recent MOT.  Advisories that will need addressing at some point are: handbrake adjustment (continues to hold satisfactorily), rear brake imbalance (not noticeable in normal driving) and front brake discs pitted/scored (but not to excess).

Paintwork is very presentable, with no known collision history. The repaired offside sill has been refinished with no obvious colour mismatch.

Approaching its 21^st birthday, age-related marks are inevitable; some scuffs to the nearside rear bumper corner and a small area of surface corrosion on the bonnet edge above the nearside headlamp being the most noticeable.

The original 17-inch alloy wheels were refurbished at 50,000 miles and remain in very good condition. The original space-saver spare is also present.

The black leather interior is particularly well preserved. The driver’s seat remains excellent and the passenger and rear seats show little evidence of use. Carpets, trim, dashboard, steering wheel, headlining and luggage area are all in good condition.  An original Alfa Romeo semi-rigid boot liner is included.

There have been no cosmetic or performance modifications. Equipment includes dual-zone climate control, electric windows and mirrors, cruise control, power steering, ABS, traction control, remote central locking, alarm/immobiliser, factory audio and front fog lamps. Electrical equipment all works correctly. The air conditioning still blows cold, although a re-gas is advisable in the light of recent exceptional temperatures.

The engine starts first time hot or cold, idles normally, maintains the correct temperature and shows no warning lights. There’s no smoke, oil or coolant leakage, or noticeable fluid consumption.

Gearbox, steering and suspension all in good order with no knocks or rattles. The car tracks straight with no wheel bearing or drivetrain noise.

Dispelling the myth of Alfa unreliability, its had only one minor breakdown in 13 years; a leaking fuel filter. Resolved by an RAC ‘get you home’ fix and subsequent replacement.

A low-mileage, largely original Alfa GT in an attractive colour combination, comprehensive history and a particularly well-preserved interior.

It is not being presented as concours: routine servicing is now due, three MOT advisories remain outstanding, and there are a few age-related cosmetic imperfections. All are disclosed so a prospective buyer knows exactly what to expect.
