  MATERIAL FROM LIGHTHING RIDGE

This magnificent opal has been cut to a pear shape design.

It is a nice size for a pendant or larger ring.

Note: Due to its thickness it will be best to protect it within a bezel.

A very dark stone. When rotated it presents with a broadflash pattern featuring various shades of blue with underlying pinfire of green. 

Rated by me as N2 in body tone  with a brightness of B4 (using the Opal Association's Guide).

It has been finished as a low cabochon top and flat back.

Weight 1.5cts and measures 14mmx8mmx1.0mm.

Please bear in mind that precious opal looks different in every different lighting condition and at every angle as the colours play across the surface.

The attached photos were taken by a Samsung Galaxy S10 mobile phone in natural light or under an LED desk lamp. Apart from cropping they have not been enhanced in any way. 

The material used is from personal stock acquired through mining at Mintabie and Lambina for more than 30 years.

All the finished opal items that I offer for sale are from my own material.
