Beautiful vintage Polish girl's folk garment, professionally displayed in a large shadow-box frame.

This unusual heirloom piece came from my aunt's home and has been in our family for many years. Our family is of Polish ancestry, and the garment was always identified within the family as a Polish girl's dress or traditional folk garment.

The garment is made of very fine white mesh/net fabric with extensive white-on-white embroidery and lacework. The workmanship is especially intricate, with numerous geometric patterns and different decorative techniques throughout the body, neckline and sleeves.

The exact Polish region and date of manufacture are unknown. Based on its appearance and family history, it appears to be an older vintage or possibly antique textile, but I have not had it professionally authenticated or dated.

It has been carefully mounted and displayed under glass in a substantial shadow-box frame, measuring about 32" x 32", as shown in the photographs. There is some age-related discoloration/spotting visible on the textile. I have made no attempt to clean or restore it.

Provenance: From the Jinske family of Arkansas, of Polish ancestry. It belonged to my aunt and was preserved and framed in her home.

A wonderful piece for a collector of Polish folk art, Eastern European textiles, antique needlework, traditional costume, or historic clothing.

Condition: Vintage condition with age-related discoloration and minor imperfections as photographed. Please examine all photographs carefully. Sold as found. The textile has not been removed from its frame for inspection.
