Description: Softcover measuring 8.75 x 6", 64 pp, bound in green linen wrappers. Scarce Chicago fundraising cookbook, printing a wide variety of recipes for savories, salads and desserts. A section of Houseold Hints at the end contains instructions for the proper use of kerosene and prints recipes for "plant food," "a good bicycle polish," and a "cure for a felon", which called for "holding the member in kerosine oil, heat as hot as can be borne, and repeating three times a day until cured." A very good copy with pages toned, splitting along spine fold, toning and light fixing to covers, a few faint stains to front cover.
