Description:  
This is an incredible Ko-Imari plate made during "Genroku" period of Edo era  (1688 - 1704) in Japan, when the many highest quality colored Ko-Imari works were produced and exported to Europe.

The pattern (or thema) of this plate is called "Hanakago-De" in Japanese, which means "flowers in a bamboo flower basket". It is depicted in the center of the plate. The surrounding is beautifully decorated with birds and flowers. 
The surrounding area of the reverse side is also beautifully decorated with sprigs. 

It is in excellent condition. It is stored in a newly custom-made wooden (paulownia) box, which is believed the best way to keep invaluable antique items for long period time.  

Note: The wooden plate stand shown in the first picture iis not a part of this offering. It is just for photography. If you would like, we are happy to provide a brand-new plastic plate stand.
