Almost everyone is familiar with the stories of the Roman Emperor Nero (54 - 68 AD): his theatrical aspirations, his debauchery and cruelty, his persecution of the Christians, etc. His notoriety makes his coins popular and somewhat pricey despite a relatively long reign and numerous coins issued (although many of his coins were mutilated by his detractors).
This coin is an As (medium bronze) issued under his reign and pictures his bust facing right on the obverse and Victory advancing left holding a shield on the reverse. I grade this coin in Very Fine condition.
The portrait is expressive and the devices are clear. This is a nice-looking coin and is attractively priced!
