Description
A wonderful and increasingly difficult-to-find Disney Traditions piece featuring Jaq and Gus from Disney’s Cinderella.
“A Stitch in Time” (4039084) combines a decorative working clock with beautifully sculpted figures of Cinderella’s much-loved mice, Jaq and Gus. Jaq sits cheerfully across the top of the clock while Gus stands alongside, with the entire piece finished in Jim Shore’s distinctive folk-art inspired patterns and hand-painted style.
This example is particularly interesting as it features the earlier gold/brown-number clock face variation. Later examples of product 4039084 are known with much darker/black numerals, making this an appealing variation for collectors. This is not described as a limited edition, but the different clock-face versions are recognised among collectors.
The clock face itself is beautifully detailed with a soft blue, cream and gold decorative border, ornate numerals and a rich red centre. Unlike a conventional Disney figurine, the working clock gives this piece both decorative and practical appeal and makes it a particularly unusual addition to a Cinderella or Disney Traditions collection.
