This vintage U.S. Army Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge is crafted in sterling silver and features the distinctive cross-and-target design surrounded by a laurel wreath, identifying the Expert level—the highest of the Army’s three marksmanship qualification levels.
Suspended below is the original “SMALL BORE RIFLE” qualification bar, indicating qualification with that weapon type. The Small Bore Rifle bar was added to the Army’s authorized qualification-bar list in 1941, and sterling pin-back examples of this style are commonly associated with the WWII through early postwar era.
The badge is marked STERLING on the reverse and weighs approximately 10.65 grams. It retains an attractive dark, unpolished silver patina with normal age-related surface wear. The pin-back hardware remains present.
An appealing original piece for a U.S. Army insignia, marksmanship, WWII/postwar militaria, or vintage sterling silver collection. Please review all photos closely for the exact condition and markings.
