Vintage prairie dress with a smocked white crepe bodice and midnight blue floral velvet maxi skirt. Great combination of textures with interesting details that elevate the silhouette, including a super 70s dog ear collar and poet sleeves with elbow smocking and elastic cuffs. I believe the bodice material is synthetic, probably polyester, while the velvet is likely a cotton/polyester blend. There are no tags present, I assume it to be homemade. Would make a fantastic hostess or party dress!

FLAWS NOTED: There is a small, pretty faded stain on the back upper left shoulder. I photographed it with a dime for scale, though it was somewhat hard to pick up with the camera (to give you an idea of how inconsequential it is). Since the material is synthetic I'm not sure it will come out much more but it is not particularly noticeable.

The elastic in the sleeve cuffs is stretched out and should be replaced (an easy fix) to get the intended volume out of the balloon/poet shaped sleeve design. The smocking in the bodice and the elbows are tight and still have a lot of stretch.

FIT NOTES: Because the bodice is smocked it can accommodate a limited range of sizes. I have included two measurement photos of the bust, one unstretched and one stretched to what I believe is the optimum amount, though it can probably extend another inch or so. I did not take multiple photos of the waist measurement, but it too can stretch roughly 2" (accommodating waist sizes from 23"-27" best I think).

Please recognize that no vintage item will be perfect, small flaws are likely to be present---by purchasing vintage the buyer accepts this fact. These clothes will have had a long life before coming to you. I will however note any major flaws (holes, stains, etc.) on the listing if necessary.

All items are hand-washed in hypoallergenic unscented detergent, air-dried, and steam sanitized before shipping. No scented products of any kind (including moth balls, dryer sheets, room deodorizers, etc.) are used in my home. However, vintage items very rarely smell completely neutral, the clothes have been in storage and I live in an old house, any of which might impart its own lightly perceptible scent even after laundering---if you are overly sensitive to scents I would advise bypassing vintage in general and my listings in particular might not be right for you.

This item comes from my personal vintage collection, which I have amassed over the course of the last 12 years or so.
