Limited edition number 57 of 950 copies.  with loose shelf ticket of the Monreith House Library inserted. 

Full dark blue leather binding over boards with 3 gilt fish illustrated to the front board and the title in gilt ot the flat spine. All housed in a blue cloth slip case , all being in very good condition. Modern marble paper to the paste downs and end papers Half title + frontispiece + title page + xvi + 2pp of illustrations + 303pp + 1pp , illustrated throughout with fold out for hook sizes and in excellent condition. 

The book was originally written and published in 1898 by the 7th Baronet, Sir Herbert Eustace Maxwell. He was a titanic figure in Scottish field sports, and Salmon and Sea Trout is considered a masterpiece of late-Victorian angling literature. Because the original 1898 editions became scarce and highly valuable, the prestigious Flyfishers' Classic Library issued this beautifully crafted, 950-copy limited leatherbound edition in the year 2000 to celebrate the book's legacy.
