Description:
A group of six Canada Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee commemoratives from 1897, comprising the ½ cent black, 1 cent orange, 2 cents green, 3 cents rose-carmine, 5 cents blue and 50 cents ultramarine values. The stamps show the paired portraits of Queen Victoria at accession and in jubilee year, with the dates 1837 and 1897 below. The lower values appear generally fresh from the front, while the 50-cent value is clearly postally used with a heavy black cancellation across the portrait area. The backs show mixed gum disturbance, hinge traces and some toning, most notably on the high value. Overall a useful representative part set with attractive lower values and a more heavily used high value.
