Up for sale is a heavy-duty cylindrical solid brass roller assembly of unknown origin. Weighs about 10lb, 11oz. Features a 3 3/8" width x 3 7/16" diameter brass roller with ball bearing joints mounted on a steel frame with a central aluminum block. The block has two tapped and threaded holes. The larger of the two appears to be about 1/4" - 5/16" in diameter.
It is most likely a part of a heavy piece of machinery. An alignment guide or tensioner part, perhaps. Whatever its purpose was, it likely used gravity and its weight to achieve it. Was purchased from the estate of a career machinist.
Good condition with some light surface wear. The brass roller spins smoothly and silently. If you give it a good spin, its weight conserves the spinning for some time. The roller has a reddish brown stain on one area. Sold AS IS with no guarantee to its purpose or functionality besides what has been stated above.
