Original 1940s lace wedding dress worn by Joan Stockdale in 1946.

It is in good wearable condition with covered buttons down the back and an additional press studded side opening. The sleeves go to a point at the cuff and have covered buttons up the inside of the arm. There is a wrist loop on the train and bra strap clips on the shoulders. There would have been an under slip, but they have long been separated.
It could do with an overall gentle clean. Some of buttons are slightly discoloured and there is a small hole which could be fixed and a couple of areas that manned a little reinforcing. The ruffled ribbon on the underside of the train is grubby, but that's what it's meant to do, protect the dress.
There is a photograph of the bride and groom, Joan and Owen, on their wedding day in 1946 as well as a number of telegrams and wedding cards.
