We are releasing a model of D51 498 equipped with an auxiliary light!
After the actual D51 498 was preserved in static display, it made a comeback on the main line in 1988, pulling the Orient Express '88, which was visiting Japan at the time. Since then, it has gained popularity pulling event trains such as the "SL Minakami" on the Joetsu Line and has become one of JR East's flagship vehicles.
In 2015, an LP405 type auxiliary light was installed next to the headlight. Currently, it is mainly active pulling 12 series passenger cars on the "SL Gunma Minakami" and "SL Gunma Yokokawa" trains.
We will reproduce recent changes such as the auxiliary light installed next to the headlight, the mounting base for the smoke deflector, the manufacturer's nameplate on the cab, and the exterior of the tender.
It is ideal as a locomotive for the 10-1720 12 series passenger cars from JR East Takasaki Rolling Stock Center.
