For your consideration is this Spanish playing card deck illustrated by Antonio Mingote. The cards were published by Myr Ediciones and printed by Heraclio Fournier in 1967, during a vibrant period for collector-oriented decks. Mingote (Ángel Antonio Mingote Barrachina) was a celebrated Spanish cartoonist, writer, and journalist whose work appeared for decades in the newspaper ABC and earned him a place in the Real Academia Española and numerous artistic honors.

Mingote illustrated three "Naipe Español" decks for Fournier. This one is known as No. 1. The second deck, also published in 1967, features different illustrations. The third deck by Mingote was published in 1979. A copy of the deck is on display in the digital collection of MUSEOTIK, the museum collection of the Basque Country in Spain.

The deck is complete with 48 Spanish-suit cards, one Joker, and an original presentation card, and is in excellent condition. It features Mingote’s distinctive artistic style, bringing a humorous and expressive touch to the classic oros, copas, espadas, and bastos pattern. The original box is in good vintage condition with signs of wear seen in photos. This is an opportunity to own a well-preserved mid-20th-century collectible that doesn’t come on the market often.
