This famous ship was docked at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, PA during the mid-to-late 20th century. Historical Significance: USS Olympia (C-6) is celebrated as the flagship of Commodore George Dewey at the Battle of Manila Bay (1898) during the Spanish-American War and is the oldest floating steel warship of its kind in the world.Location History: The Cruiser Olympia Association maintained and operated the ship as a historic landmark at Penn's Landing before stewardship transitioned to the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia.
