Authentic 19th-Century Wear: This original mid-1850s/1860s hand-colored lithograph shows natural age-toning (uniform yellowing) to the paper, consistent with its 160+ year history.

  Water Damage Notice: There is a visible brown liquid stain / tide mark present in the lower left-hand corner of the paper margin (see close-up photos). It extends into the bottom edge but does not heavily impact the primary central image of the two brothers.

  Hand-Colored Details: The hand-applied watercolors (deep plum jackets and teal curtains) remain remarkably distinct and have not suffered severe UV sun fading.

  Original F.P. Whiting Wood Frame: Framed in its highly desirable, rustic, original 19th-century wood frame from F.P. Whiting's NYC shop. The glass is intact. The frame shows beautiful primitive distressing, minor surface scuffs, and expected wear that underscores its genuine Civil War-era folk provenance.
