Description
Dusty Paws is part of the 2016 Charlie Bears Isabelle Collection, designed by Isabelle Lee and produced in a limited edition of 400 pieces.
He is made from sandy gold mohair with a softly aged appearance and a full, tactile coat. His face is set with dark glass eyes and a hand stitched brown nose, with the downward stitched mouth detail giving him a calm, slightly thoughtful expression.
Around his neck is the original twisted rope cord necklace, finished with a silver tone key pendant.
Dusty Paws is fully jointed at the head, shoulders and hips, allowing him to be posed in the traditional manner. His large paw pads are finished in contrasting fabric with stitched claw detailing.
An interesting part of the design is the use of deliberate simulated repairs and contrasting fabric patches. These details are intentional and form part of Isabelle Lee's approach to giving some of her bears the appearance of an older, much loved companion that has been carefully repaired over time.
The Isabelle Collection label is sewn to the lower back. His original swing tag and certificate of authenticity are also present, confirming this example as No. 342 of 400 from the 2016 Collection and produced exclusively for Charlie Bears Limited. The certificate bears the printed signature of Charlotte Morris, Managing Director.

Historical Note
Isabelle Lee is known for incorporating traditional teddy bear influences into her designs, including aged finishes, visible mending details and contrasting fabric patches. These simulated repairs are part of the original design rather than later damage, helping give bears such as Dusty Paws the appearance of an older companion that has accumulated character over time.
