This is a beautiful hand-painted hanging scroll by the Edo-period ukiyo-e artist Tōbun-sai Eishō (1756–1829). The artwork features a delicate and detailed depiction of wisteria flowers and swallows, showcasing Eishō’s refined brushwork. The artist, originally named Hosoda Toki-tomi, studied under Kano Eikawa-in and was awarded the name Eishō by the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. Renowned for his skill in both ukiyo-e and hand-painted works, Eishō produced many students and left a lasting legacy in Japanese art.

The scroll measures approximately 68 inches (174 cm) in length and 13 inches (33 cm) in width, with the artwork itself being about 37.8 inches (96 cm) long and 11.2 inches (28.5 cm) wide. It comes with a storage box for preservation.

Condition:
