RARE EARLY-WAR ST. CLAIR "LOW PRESSURE" M1 HELMET LINER
Original Rayon Suspension & Leather Sweatband - Early War Production (1942-1945)
This is an authentic World War II M1 helmet liner manufactured by the St. Clair Rubber Company of Marysville, Michigan. The yellow "SC" marking in the crown identifies this as a desirable early-war "low pressure" liner.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
St. Clair began M1 helmet liner delivery to the U.S. Army in April 1942 and produced approximately 1,300,000 liners during the war. Early-war examples with original rayon suspension webbing are highly sought after by collectors.

This liner has cosmetic and structural flaws, but it remains a displayable piece for collectors.
FLAWS:
• Shell Cracks: There are THREE (3) distinctive cracks in the shell material (clearly visible in the photos).
• Exterior Wear: The exterior surface shows heavy scuffing, scratching, and paint wear consistent with age and use (see close-up photos).
• Markings/Writing: There is illegible writing on an inner strap and what appears to be "JIM" written in white chalk/paint on the interior shell.
• Leather Sweatband: Shows wear, aging, and patina.

• Original rayon suspension webbing is intact.
• All four rivets are present.
• Webbing structure is sound.
