Antique “Clark Brown Model” expansive auger bit set, made by R.H. Brown & Co, USA, dating to approximately 1890–1910.

This is an early and genuine example of the Clark patent lineage adjustable woodworking drill, used with a brace for boring variable-sized holes in wood. Marked clearly on the shaft:

“THE CLARK BROWN MODEL – MADE BY R.H. BROWN & CO”

The set includes:

Two expansive auger bars with screw lead points

Adjustable sliding cutter with graduated scale

Additional cutter component

Original fitted wooden case with green baize lining

Condition: Good antique condition. Signs of age and use including surface wear, light corrosion, and minor marks. Mechanisms appear intact, though not tested in use. Case shows expected wear for age.

This is a desirable early example, less commonly seen than later “Clark pattern” or Conval versions, and of interest to collectors of antique woodworking tools and early American patented designs.
