1930s Salt Glazed Wine Pitcher with Cobalt Blue Embossed Grape Grapevines and Cherubs Barware.
This pitcher is for beer or wine and is made of Stoneware. It has two cherubs, grapevines and grapes embossed on the outside with the Cherubs Carrying the Grapes on a stick on their Shoulder. The grapes and grapevine embossing is gorgeous, as is the cobalt blue sits inlaid on the lightly blue, almost gray, salt glazed background.
It reads "Trinkt wie eure vater aus stein den wein" which means, "Drink wine like your fathers of stone" referring to this Stoneware Pitcher.
Heavy Stoneware
Height is approximately 6.5" tall.
Body diameter is approximately 4-1/2" across and 13" around it.
The only mark on bottom is a number "7" in the center of base and 0.5 l on top.
