1827 Portsmouth NH stampless folded letter to Windsor VT. Red oval handstamp with stars; free rate handstamp; free frank of Levi Woodbury, with short letter signed by Woodbury (but with hole just above the signature, which is distracting). Woodbury (1789-1851) was a senator from NH 1825-1831 and 1841-45; secretary of the navy 1831-34 and secretary of the treasury 1834-41, but best known as a justice of the US Supreme Court, 1845-51.
