A beautiful vintage Art Deco flycatcher ceiling light shade in softly marbled cream, ivory and pale primrose-yellow glass.
The substantial moulded glass shade has a deeply scalloped, flower-like form with raised panels and an attractive clouded or alabaster-style finish. When illuminated, the translucent marbling should create a wonderfully warm, diffused glow.
The shade retains all of its original suspension hardware, including the three chains, threaded hooks, decorative flower-shaped caps, leather washers and retaining plates.
I have carefully dismantled and cleaned the fitting. Surface rust was removed from the original hardware before it was repainted in gold, preserving the complete period arrangement while refreshing its appearance.
The original leather washers have deteriorated with age and are included for reference, but they must be replaced with new felt or leather washers before installation. This will cushion the glass and prevent the metal fittings from placing direct pressure upon it.
A characterful original shade, ideal for an Art Deco interior, period hallway, bedroom, landing or heritage-inspired home.

No electrical wiring, ceiling rose, lampholder or bulb is included. The light should be assembled and installed by a suitably qualified person.
Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and previous use. The glass has been carefully cleaned and displays beautifully, with no major cracks observed. There are small chips, nibbles and unevenness around the unfinished upper aperture, together with occasional light marks, inclusions and bubbles within the glass. These are shown in the close-up photographs.
All suspension hardware is original. It has been dismantled and cleaned, surface rust has been removed, and the metalwork has been repainted gold. The original leather washers are perished and must be replaced with suitable new felt or leather washers before the shade is assembled or installed.
